Welcome to the Mid Rogue Fire District

The district was formed in November of 2024 by the Josephine County Commissioners under the name Josephine County Rural Fire Protection District. The Board of Directors were elected in May of 2025 and sworn in on July 1st, 2025 and soon determined that the name needed to be change to end the confusion many county residents were facing. The name was voted on during a public hearing on August 4th, 2025 and the name Mid Rogue Fire District became official on September 4th, 2025. Learn more on our About MRFD page.

The district covers approximately 326 square miles bordering Jackson County to the East, Applegate Fire District and BLM to the South, Illinois Valley Fire District to the Southwest, Forest Service and BLM to the West, Wolf Creek RFPD and BLM to the North, and we are outside the city limits of Grants Pass.

If you would like to determine if your property is within our district, please go to the Josephine County Fire Districts Map and enter your address in the search bar.

Through a service agreement with Rural Metro Fire Department of Josephine County, residents of the district are covered for all-hazard emergency services including fire suppression, EMS, rescue, and other emergency response. Since the district does not collect taxes to fund these services, it is essential that residents maintain their subscription with Rural Metro Fire Department, Inc. The agreement between the district and Rural Metro allows them to continue operating under their subscription-based service model, ensuring uninterrupted protection for our community.
